Easter Eggs Colored with Tempera Paint

Easter Eggs Colored with Tempera Paint

These delicately colored eggs were painted with tempera paint in four colors: red, yellow, green, and pale blue. The paint was mixed with water until it achieved the consistency of watercolor.

It's always fun to color eggs, but Calvin had extra special fun when Daddy helped too.

Procedure:

  • Each color paint had it's own container and it's own brush, and I introduced the colors one at a time. This prevented Calvin from 'double dipping' his brush.  I wanted him to see the colors mix on the egg and not in the container.

The eggs turned out so pretty.  We're going to use them in our Easter centerpiece along with our Fuzzy Wuzzy Easter Bunny.  So stay tuned.  There's more to come.

Do you have a comment or a suggestion?  I'd love to hear from you.
