Kids Paint Just For the Fun of It

Kids Paint Just For the Fun of It

What happens when you set paint, paper, and a brush in front of a little-arty-pants? Fun, that's what.

Just look at Calvin's face. He's in the zone...having fun...learning and loving every minute of it. He cares nothing about making a pretty painting.  All he wants is to enjoy the process of painting.

Pablo Picasso said this about painting: "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child."

We'll never know what Picasso meant by his comment. He died in 1973.  I believe he wanted to paint like Calvin: with loads of fun and no care for what the end product looks like.

Personally, I plan to imprint these images of Calvin in my visual memory where I can pull them out whenever I get too serious and goal-driven about my art.

Happy painting to us all.
